It is worth noting that no queen throughout the ages enjoyed what the most famous queen, Cleopatra VII, had of unparalleled love, infatuation, and admiration through times and ages and through places and civilizations, according to the book “Queens from Ancient Egypt” by the Egyptologist Dr. Hussein Abdel Basir.

The Ptolemaic family was almost dead before Cleopatra came to power in Egypt, but it precipitated the Roman occupation of Egypt, not only through military force, but also by inflaming the hearts and minds of its leaders, which prompted them to occupy it and turn it into a part of the Roman Empire.

After the death of her father, Ptolemy XII the Piper, the throne passed to his son and daughter, but the two had the ambition to rule each of them independently, and an intense struggle occurred between them, during which Cleopatra found that she was not only fighting her brother, but the men of the palace as well, so she decided to flee until she found the opportunity opportunity to return.

Cleopatra was planning to return to power, and the struggle in Rome to control it was fierce between Julius Caesar and his friend and partner Pompey, and the struggle ended with Pompey’s defeat and his escape to Egypt, hoping that he would find a response to his favor with the sons of Ptolemy the Piper, as it was Pompey who brought him back to Egypt.

Pompey reached Egypt, but was killed. Julius Caesar arrived in Alexandria. And when he learned of the killing of Pompeii, he grieved greatly for his friend, and honored his resting place. After Julius Caesar calmed down from the shock of killing his friend, he began wandering around the city as if he were king over the country. This provoked many of the patriotic Alexandrians.

Julius Caesar learned of the problems between the two brothers; He sent for them. Cleopatra entered the palace through her servant, who wrapped her in a carpet; So she emerged from it as Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty emerging from the shell, and Julius Caesar was impressed by her. After defeating her brother, Julius Caesar declared Cleopatra VII Queen of Egypt.

And she had to pay the price for Caesar’s help to her, and the price was a three-month Nile cruise, from which Cleopatra returned carrying his child in her womb, and Caesar returned to Rome after declaring Cleopatra queen of Egypt, and her husband from her brother Ptolemy XIV, and soon Cleopatra gave birth to a son From Julius Caesar. In the name of “Caesar”, and the Egyptians called him sarcastically “Caesaron”.

Egypt witnessed during that period of Cleopatra’s rule a strong renaissance in the economy and political life. And Cleopatra visited Rome and met Caesar, and she felt as if she had become queen of Rome. I stayed there two years. Then Julius Caesar was killed.

The unexpected end of Caesar represented a violent shock to Cleopatra, who gathered her sorrows, returned to Egypt, and declared her son Caesar (or Caesarion) her partner in ruling Egypt, after killing her brother Ptolemy XIV.
