Quentin Sauvé Returns With New Solo Album No Hard Feelings

French singer-songwriter Quentin Sauvé released his third solo album, No Hard Feelings, on October 16, 2026, via the Swiss label Humus Records. The record blends folk, electronic arrangements, and intimate lyricism to address a painful professional betrayal, personal anxieties, and his fragile relationship with music.

The Bottom Line

  • The Release: No Hard Feelings dropped on October 16, 2026, through the Swiss label Humus Records.
  • The Catalyst: The album was born after an American label cancelled his previous record just three days before its scheduled release.
  • The Sound: Sauvé pairs heavy, personal subject matter concerning manipulation and anxiety with folk arrangements and subtle irony.

A Sudden Cancellation and a Swiss Sanctuary

Quentin Sauvé moves between two distinct musical worlds. While he plays punk hardcore with the French band Birds in Row, his solo output relies on delicate acoustic guitar and bright arrangements. That delicate balance was nearly shattered when an anticipated album deal with an American label fell apart at the last minute.

The entire release schedule was scrapped just three days before it was set to begin. “On m’a annulé toute ma vie, entre guillemets, trois jours avant que ça démarre. Et on termine par ‘sans rancune’. C’est un petit peu drôle quand même,” Sauvé explained on the broadcast Vertigo on October 23.

Following the collapse of the American release, Sauvé found a new home on Humus Records. Based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the label houses a roster of Swiss acts including Coilguns, Stéphane Blok, Baby Volcano, and Elie Zoé. The album’s title directly reflects the dark irony of that unceremonious career halt, though the phrase may take on a literal, more peaceful meaning over time.

Dressing Pain in Luminous Arrangement

The tracks on No Hard Feelings confront themes of betrayal, manipulation, and the fallout of professional deceit. The opening track, “Collateral Damage,” directly addresses the rupture, while “Gaslighter” targets a former manager and friend over a deceptively light musical backdrop.

“J’avais besoin de dire ces mots-là, mais je n’avais pas besoin de les dire gratuitement,” Sauvé noted regarding his writing process. “Les dire par un biais léger, dans la forme, pas forcément dans le fond, me permettait de les assumer davantage.”

This stark contrast between heavy lyrical content and bright, ironic instrumentation runs through the entire tracklist. Sauvé has consistently written about difficult life experiences, but this record introduces a brighter atmosphere that creates a bittersweet perspective.

Overcoming Anxiety Through Forced Constraints

Modern anxieties also permeate the record, notably on the track “Doomscrolling,” which examines his relationship with digital media and news cycles. Those personal struggles have been compounded since 2015 by tinnitus and hyperacusis, conditions that frequently force him to isolate himself during tours.

Writing alone since 2009, Sauvé has traditionally used his solo work as an outlet to exorcise his vulnerabilities. However, the trauma of the cancelled album required additional support. He began psychological counseling and enrolled in an online songwriting workshop hosted by Adrianne Lenker, a singer of the group Big Thief. The workshop imposed strict rules—such as writing a song in twenty minutes—which broke through his creative blocks and generated several pieces that made it onto the final album.

“Je me suis offert ça comme un cadeau de Noël. J’y allais sans aucune attente. C’était une sortie de zone de confort en bonne et due forme,” he said of the experience. Like the rest of his solo catalog, the lyrics are written in English, a linguistic choice inherited from his early rock and metal influences that allows him to express intimate thoughts he might otherwise struggle to voice directly in French.
