Racing – Newell’s: formations and TV

Racing will face Newell’s under the need to recover after the defeat against Gimnasia. On their home field, where they have not lost so far in 2023, Fernando Gago’s team will go for a win not to stray from the top and to arrive as well planted as possible to the Avellaneda classic. Pintita will once again include variants, some required and others to rotate through the series of matches. In this note, we tell you everything about Racing’s match against Newell’s: possible formations, referee, time and TV.

What time will the meeting start?

The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m., in the Cilindro de Avellaneda. Racing’s original schedule against Newell’s was at 7:00 p.m., but it was delayed for security and television reasons, as explained by the Professional League.

Racing Referee – Newell’s

Fernando Espinoza was the appointed judge for this match. He will be assisted by Ezequiel Brailovsky and Lucio Mendez, while the fourth referee will be Germán Delfino. In charge of the VAR will be Diego Abal.

What channel is the game on?

This match will be broadcast live by ESPN Premium throughout the country.

How Racing and Newell’s arrive

The Academy suffered a last-minute loss due to the injury of Aníbal Moreno, who was going to start after going to the bank and not adding minutes in the fall against Gimnasia. It is estimated that Sigali will reappear from the start (he did not act against the Wolf either), although it remains to be seen if the same will happen with Matías Rojas, Gabriel Hauche and Paolo Guerrero.

Matías Rojas went to the bench in El Bosque, but due to Cardona’s injury he entered the PT and played almost 70 minutes, more than Gago expected. Therefore, it would not be strange that this Wednesday he goes to the bank again in Racing against Newell’s. Hauche could also be a relief option, after playing as a starter in the last two games, while it will be necessary to see if Paolo Guerrero returns as a starter (he entered the ST against Gimnasia) or if Maximiliano Romero will continue in that condition. After this meeting, Racing will play the Avellaneda derby on Sunday at the Libertadores de América stadium.

Newell’s, in turn, comes from a 0-0 draw in the Rosario classic and a 1-0 win over Audax Italiano from Chile. It was in his debut for the Copa Sudamericana. Because Leprosy also faces a series of games between the League and the Cup, Gabriel Heinze will introduce variants for this match. He will do it in order to balance loads.
