With a headquarters in the Capital and another in Yerba Buena, the Radiological Center Dr. Luis Méndez Collado is one of the medical companies dedicated to diagnostic images of excellence in the province. The service will be in charge of Dr. Hugo Chaya, who explains what SPECT/CT (single photon emission computed tomography) is all about, which is the latest piece of equipment purchased: “SPECT/CT allows functional and anatomical images to be acquired in a single study with high diagnostic capacity, lower dose of radioactive material for the patient, shortens acquisition times and provides attenuation-corrected images that facilitate better analysis of them. Among the main applications are the field of oncology, cardiology, neurology, traumatology, among others, all with high sensitivity and diagnostic specificity”.
