The Authority grants children from the age of (4) to 10 years a discount of (50%) on air-conditioned and regular trains.
The Authority disburses subscriptions supported by the value of travel fees for students attending schools, universities and institutes from the place of residence to the place of study – 98% in the regular class “Long Live Egypt”, 97% in the ventilated trains, and 90% in the third air-conditioned trains.
The Authority also pays subscriptions to public sector workers by reducing 70% of the value of travel fares on “Long Live Egypt” trains on all lines between the place of residence and the place of work.
Tickets are issued to people of determination and facilities, if any, at a discount of 50% each for all of the Authority’s passenger trains, including sleeper trains, according to the identity card issued by the Ministry of Social Solidarity or its affiliated offices.
Pensioners also receive a 50% discount after submitting a form from the General Authority for Insurance and Pensions stamped with the seal of the Republic’s logo indicating the authorized class of travel along with the number card. It applies to those who are seventy years of age and over. A free ticket on regular trains (Long Live Egypt) is issued according to the national number card.
For cancer patients, a smart card is issued from the office of the Central Administration for Marketing and Sales in Cairo, showing the patient’s data and photo according to a letter from the hospital and stamped with the seal of the Republic’s logo, indicating the facilities, if any. The card is renewed at the beginning of the calendar year, and reservations are allowed on air-conditioned second and third class trains. It has dynamic ventilation with a round trip and a return trip in the same day without any cash.
The authority confirmed that all discounted train tickets are booked and booked through the ticket windows before boarding the train to avoid paying the fare in addition to the prescribed fine.
