On Tuesday, rain is expected in many places in Latvia, mostly short-lived, more precipitation will fall in Kurzeme, where there will be heavy rain in places, forecasters predict, writes LETA.
In the eastern part of Latvia the day may pass without precipitation; in the evening the probability of local thunderstorms will increase.
Light winds will predominantly blow from the east. Starting from the southwest of the country, a moderate wind will blow from the west, southwest, and in some places it will intensify with gusts of up to 14 meters per second.
The maximum air temperature during the day is expected to range from +5 degrees in some places on the Kurzeme coast to +23 degrees near Daugavpils.
The national heat record on April 2 was +20.4 degrees in 2017 in Daugavpils.
In the eastern regions of the country, air quality will remain very poor on Tuesday, while in the west it is expected to improve.
In Riga, rain is possible at times, light to moderate easterly, southeasterly wind will change to southwest. The air temperature in the middle of the day will rise to +17 degrees, in the evening it will drop below +10 degrees.
The weather is determined by a growing cyclone.
