Today, the 16th (Saturday), rain clouds have been developing mainly along the mountains since around noon, and some thunderclouds can also be seen. In some places, heavy rain was observed. Watch for locally extremely heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds late tonight. If rain clouds develop more than expected or stay in the same place, there is a possibility of warning-level heavy rain.
Atmospheric conditions are very unstable
Today, the 16th (Saturday), warm and humid air is flowing towards a front extending from the Sea of Japan to the southern part of Tohoku, making the atmospheric condition extremely unstable.
Although many places were sunny in the morning, rain clouds and thunderclouds developed around the mountains of the Kanto region, around Nagano and Niigata prefectures, northern Kyushu, and the main island of Okinawa from around noon.
