2023-09-14 02:00:00

Only two out of three Reunion Islanders on average (72%) say they are in favor of vaccination. Membership in sharp decline, measured in the wake of the covid crisis, and whose trend is opposite to what is observed on a national scale.

Last April, Unicef deplored a setback of almost a decade for the planet, with more than 67 million children totally or partially deprived of vital vaccines between 2019 and 2021. A worrying situation, to be highlighted partly due to disruptions linked to the health crisis. “More than a decade of progress in terms of routine immunization of children has been undermined”, and “getting back on track will be a challenge”, underlined the report which also worried regarding the risk of epidemics measles or polio.

A summary on a planetary scale, with obviously abysmal disparities between countries regarding access to care and vaccination campaigns.
