Visitors flock to Qatar from GCC countries. 42 percent of visitors to the country in June were from the GCC. According to the Planning and Statistics Authority, the number of visitors from the Gulf countries to Qatar has increased compared to previous years. In June this year, 1.18 lakh people arrived from the GCC. It was 1.04 lakh in May this year. Meanwhile, in June 2022, the number of visitors was only 59,620. A 99 percent increase was recorded over the previous year.

Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain shared 42 percent, while those who came to Qatar in June from other Arab countries accounted for nine percent. The high influx of visitors was due to the June Eid holidays and the start of the summer holidays. There is also an increase in the number of visitors from countries including India. With the granting of Haya visas, many expatriates bringing their families have also influenced the number of visitors.
