Porsche is celebrating two important anniversaries, the 75th of the brand and the 60th of the company’s emblematic model, the 911. Who says celebration in the automotive field says original and tailor-made variation. Porsche is no exception, having announced a unique edition of the 911, the Porsche 911 S/T 2024.

Designed by purists, for purists

The 2024 Porsche 911 S/T is a machine focused on driving and purity, according to the manufacturer. Powered by the same engine as the 911 GT3 RS, this version promises 518 horsepower and 342 lb-ft of torque. The 6-cylinder flat 4-litre engine revs up to 9,000 rpm, which allows you to experience exhilarating acceleration. The S/T 2024 is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, to the delight of driving enthusiasts.

The company’s engineers have worked on an important element on this car, namely its weight. Magnesium wheels, ceramic brake system, sports exhaust, lightweight glass, leather door handles and many carbon fiber reinforced plastic parts have been modified in the vehicle to make it as light as possible. This edition weighs 1,380 kilos (3,036 pounds), which is 37 kilos (81 pounds) less than the usual GT3 RS version.

These changes allow the S/T to be one of the most expeditious 911s on the menu. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, 0.2 seconds quicker than the RS GT3 Touring manual edition, but 0.5 seconds slower than the GT3 RS fitted with the dual-clutch gearbox of the company. In short, the S/T version is the most frugal manual 911 in the range.

Exclusive touches to celebrate

Porsche developed the 911 S/T 2024 for the road. It’s less focused on the track than its siblings, which only have a few parts to improve its aerodynamics, such as its high-speed deployable rear wing.

Nevertheless, and to give more attitude to the coupe, Porsche is offering a heritage package that bears the name “60 years of the 911”. This package includes the new edition-exclusive color called Shor Blue Metallic, white accents, 60th Anniversary badging and wheels painted a shade called Ceramica. Commemorative badges, gold-tone logos and the vintage-style Porch crest in the wheel covers complete the subtle aesthetic touches unique to the 2024 911 S/T.

The interior is also customizable. It is possible to choose black or classic cognac to dress the materials of the cabin. This interior is also dotted with traditional Porsche crests on the steering wheel and headrests. Carbon fiber-reinforced plastic seats are standard, but can be swapped out for free with adjustable sport benches. The instrumentation is illuminated in green which resembles the colors used in the manufacturer’s racing division.

The first examples should hit the road in the spring of 2024, and those interested can get their hands on a watch exclusive to the model called Chronograph 1 – 911 S/T for $13,500. Like several exclusive editions, the 2024 Porsche 911 S/T will be built in limited quantities. The company plans to produce 1,963 copies, each selling for a starting price of $384,560.
