Boise State wide receiver Rasean Jones claimed Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors, the conference announced, following a standout performance that helped push the Broncos’ win streak to six games.
A Standout Performance in Pullman
The first-year playmaker hauled in a team-high six catches for 78 yards during a 31-10 victory at Washington State. That road win pushed Boise State to a clean 3-0 record in Pac-12 play.
Jones moved the chains efficiently throughout the matchup, gaining first downs on four of his six receptions while chipping in a pair of rushes for 13 yards. His production featured a game-long 33-yard catch on the Broncos’ opening scoring drive, alongside two crucial receptions on the closing drive of the second quarter.
Rising Through the Program Ranks
Through the current season, the Baker City, Oregon native paces the team with 29 receptions for 437 yards. He stands as one of four freshmen in the program’s Football Bowl Subdivision era to post at least three games with five or more catches.
Jones currently averages 72.8 receiving yards per game, placing him third among all FBS freshmen nationally. This recognition marks his first career conference honor and the third weekly award for the Broncos this season.
Historic Company on The Blue
Prior conference accolades for Boise State this year went to Dylan Riley, who took offensive honors, and Cam Bates, who earned special teams recognition following a Sept. 12 win over Memphis. Jones is the first Boise State freshman to collect a conference weekly honor since Sire Gaines received the selection on Nov. 24, 2025.
The Broncos hold the No. 20 spot in the Associated Press Poll and sit at No. 22 in the Coaches Poll. The team returns to The Blue for an 8 p.m. matchup against Texas State on Oct. 31.
