The Spanish “Relevo” network revealed on Tuesday that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez told club officials to “forget” Kylian Mbappe, the star of Paris Saint-Germain this summer, as the goal is to sign him for free next year without having to pay a transfer fee to his French club.
Mbappe became a hot topic this summer after he informed his club’s management of his unwillingness to extend the contract beyond the next season, while the latter asked him to renew or transfer during this period, amid doubts from Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s management that the French international player had agreed with Real Madrid to move to his ranks after end of his contract.
The Spanish “Relevo” network said on Tuesday: Florentino Perez told club officials to forget Mbappe this summer. The player will not come to Madrid during the summer because the club does not want to pay a transfer fee to Paris Saint-Germain, while he can get the player for free next January.
Real Madrid is looking for a striker to succeed Frenchman Karim Benzema, who moved to Ittihad Jeddah last June after 14 years with the team.
