Realme GT Neo 3T review: a mid-range marathon runner

The firm has chosen a triple rear photo module including a 64-megapixel wide-angle module (f / 1.8 optics), an ultra-wide-angle (8 megapixels, f / 2.3) and a macro module 2 MP (f/2.4).

The GT Neo 3T displays a configuration quite similar to that of the Oppo Find X5 Lite. Ideal for a comparison.

Module grand-angle : 16 Mpx, f/1,8, eq. 25 mm

Realme uses the technique of pixel-binning, which consists of grouping four photosites into one to obtain more light. By default, the smartphone captures snapshots in 16 megapixels, but it is possible to exploit its full definition of 64 megapixels to obtain theoretically more detailed images.

Realme GT Neo 3T (16 Mpx, f/1,8 eq. 25 mm, ISO 176, 1/100 s)

The main module delivers a good rendering. The level of detail is higher (see the two faces in our photo) and the whole is sharper. We see this in particular on the sights, which do not “bleed”, unlike the Oppo Find X5 Lite. This is mainly due to a greater contrast. Neither displays optimal colorimetry. The Realme adopts a warmer hue which translates into the perception of a sort of slightly yellow veil that dulls the colors.

Realme GT Neo 3T (16 Mpx, f/1,8 eq. 25 mm, ISO 6009, 1/20 s)

At night, we prefer its competitor. Digital smoothing loses a lot of detail in both cases, but the GT Neo 3T struggles even more. The Find X5 Lite manages contrast a little better despite its low exposure. The signs on the book are thus more readable despite an obvious noise.

64 megapixel mode

It is possible to force full definition in the settings. We isolated an area of the same size (0.90 Mpx) on each of the shots. You can see the difference in definition.

64MP Night Mode

64MP Day Mode

By day, there is a slight gain in detail and a slightly finer rendering. This is not the case for night photography. It will therefore be possible to easily crop your photo, but the interest seems limited.

Module ultra grand-angle : 8 Mpx, f/2,3, 119˚, eq. 16 mm

Mid-range ultra-wide-angle modules are never really convincing. Unsurprisingly, that of the Realme GT Neo 3T does not shine in the exercise.

Realme GT Neo 3T (8 Mpx, f/2,3, eq.16 mm, ISO 250, 1/100 s)

By day, the Realme GT Neo 3T delivers an overexposed rendering. The management of the dynamics is risky and the light tends to make many details disappear. The snapshot of the Find X5 Lite, more contrasted, still seems more readable (without really convincing).

In the dark, the two sensors can no longer follow. We always distinguish more things on the Oppo, but the photo is unusable in both cases.

Front and video module

A 16 Mpx sensor whose lens opens at f / 2.5 is housed at the front. Selfies are of good quality when light is available, although there are some difficulties with high exposures. At night, the level of detail and sharpness inevitably drop, and make the exercise more complicated.

The device is capable of filming in 4K at 30 fps. The level of detail is high and the dynamics well managed. The colors seem a little less vibrant than in reality and the whole lacks a bit of contrast. However, it is possible to capture beautiful moments on video, in particular thanks to the “ultra stability” mode (only in Full HD).
