On February 18, 2019, the then 15-year-old Rebecca Reusch disappeared from Berlin. Manhunts and searches have so far been unsuccessful. Investigators had suspected the girl’s brother-in-law, Florian R., but due to lack of evidence he was released from custody after a short time. His house is said to have been searched again.

Sebastian Büchner, spokesman for the Berlin public prosecutor’s office, confirmed to RTL that a search had taken place at “the suspect against whom the investigation is ongoing”. Apparently it was about possible evidence. The public prosecutor’s office did not want to disclose any further details so as not to endanger the work of the police.

What role does the bathrobe play?

When exactly the police operation at Florian R. should have taken place is not entirely clear. RTL writes that the investigators carried out acoustic measurements in the house. Possibly to test which noises penetrate from the inside to the outside.

During the search, the authorities are said to have found a bathrobe with the belt missing. Whether this fact in connection with the disappearance of Rebecca, should now clarify further investigations.
