Recall of Kinder chocolates: the complete list of affected products

Kinder products from the Italian group Ferrero, withdrawn from the shelves since Monday in Europe due to suspicion of salmonella. In France, the alert was triggered after the appearance in France of symptoms of the disease in 15 children who had consumed Kinder products. In Guyana, supermarkets have withdrawn the brands concerned from sale.

The Kinder products listed by the Ministry of Health, offered for sale in Guyana, have been removed from the shelves of supermarkets. A measure variously followed by small businesses. The press release from the Ministry of Health mentions several products from the Ferrero group:

  • Kinder Surprise Maxi 100 grams

All of the recalled products are manufactured in Belgium, in the Arlon factory. Several hundred tons of chocolate are involved. In a press release, the brand assures “that none of our Kinder products placed on the French market have tested positive for salmonella, we have not received any complaints from consumers, nevertheless we take this matter very seriously, because consumer protection is our top priority.”

If you have purchased the products listed, you must keep them and contact the consumer assistance set up by Ferrero at 08 00 65 36 53 and at the address [email protected]. A refund is possible with the company.

It is about twenty cases of salmonellosis noted by the health authorities in France which caused this recall “as a precaution“. Salmonella (or Salmonella) is a bacterium that can spread and multiply in the digestive system and cause salmonellosis: food infection manifested by gastrointestinal disorders, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach aches. Eight people have been hospitalized in France in the context of this crisis, but are now out of danger.
