Reclaim Your Forgotten Savings: Discover Hidden Assets and Recover Lost Money with Ciclade.fr

Every year, billions of euros lie dormant in accounts “forgotten”. But these sums cannot stay there indefinitely. Moreover, as confirmed The echoes, an organization keeps an eye on things: the Prudential Control and Resolution Authority (ACPR). Therefore, if banks and insurance companies do not identify all these forgotten accounts or life insurance policies, they are liable to heavy penalties. The rights holders have ten years to claim their dues (three for a deceased person). After this date, the sums are entrusted to the Caisse des Dépôts (CDC).

Our colleagues point out that after this date, beneficiaries can still claim the money, but the financial organization only keeps it for thirty years. And it is then the State which recovers everything which has not been claimed. To date, the amount deposited with the Caisse des Dépôts is colossal: more than 6.7 billion euros. Generally, the sums are recovered by the rights holders, but over the past seven years, the date of the Eckert law (which facilitates procedures), nearly 326.5 million euros have been definitively lost. And therefore ceded to the State.

An online complaints tool

However, the Eckert law made it possible to establish a new tool : the service Ciclade.fr. Whether by telephone or via an online contact form, any citizen can do a free search. If a match is found, a request is made directly to the Caisse des Dépôts and the funds are paid if the file is validated. The organization specifies: “If there are no results corresponding to your search although you think that the sums are at the Caisse des Dépôts, we invite you to contact the original financial establishments.”

The problem is that the service is still little known, and according to The echoes, in 2022, only 133.6 million euros have been claimed. In six years, the sum has barely reached 700 million euros. Such sums therefore attract more and more scammers. So that you can be certain of not being the victim of an attempted scam, the Caisse des Dépôts prefers to alert by providing education: it assures not to contact “individuals nor notaries to inform them of the existence of unclaimed sums, nor to remit these sums directly to them”. Be careful, therefore.
