Recommendation of the European Parliament to grant Ukraine membership in the European Union

The European Parliament has recommended that Ukraine become a member of the European Union. Steps were taken to grant immediate membership to the war-torn country. The European Union (EU) has said in a statement that it will supply Ukraine with 70 Russian-made fighter jets. Bulgaria will supply 16 MiG-29s and 14 Su-25s. Poland will provide 28 MiG-29s and Slovakia 12 MiG-29s.

EU Security Chief Joseph Borrell has said that EU member states can supply weapons and aircraft of their choice. In addition to fighter jets, anti-armor rockets and machine guns will also be provided.

As the sixth day of the Russia-Ukraine war approaches, the second round of talks will take place today. The Russian media reported on the second round of talks. The talks are being held on the Belarus-Poland border.

Ukraine’s main demand for Russia in the talks is a military withdrawal. Russia’s main goal is to prevent American invasion of Eastern Europe through Ukraine. The first round of talks took place yesterday. This is followed by a second round of discussions. Belarus’s have said they will take any action to maintain peace.

It is also noteworthy that they have given an assurance that there will be no attack from the Belarusian side against Ukraine. Yesterday, Russia and Ukraine held crucial peace talks on the issue amid the ongoing five-day conflict.
