The preliminary investigations into the New Year’s Eve shooting in Rosazza, in the province of Biella, have been closed, where according to the accusatory hypothesis, the parliamentarian Emanuele Pozzolo fired a gunshot by mistake, wounding the son-in-law of the head of the escort of the undersecretary of Justice Andrea Delmastro, with a mini gun. According to the investigators, Pozzolo was the shooter and there were no other people involved. In a note, the public prosecutor’s office of Bella explained that the preliminary investigations had as their object both the assumption of summary information of all the people present on the night of January 31st and surveys and checks of a technical nature carried out in the premises and on the the seized weapon held by the Honorable Pozzolo.

“Since the acquisition of the summary testimonial information by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Biella and the CC Station of Andorno Micca, the traceability of the crimes provisionally contested (culpable personal injury, failure to keep weapons and dangerous ignitions/explosions) to the Hon. Pozzolo, with the relative registration of the same in the register of suspects”, we read in the document. The findings carried out by the Investigative Unit of the Carabinieri of Biella and the subsequent technical investigations of the RIS of Parma (STUP, fingerprint and biological investigations on the seized weapon), “confirmed the initial hypothesis and excluded the possible involvement of third parties” , as well as ballistic technical consultancy. Furthermore, it emerged that “the gun from which the shot was fired could not be taken to a public place and/or open to the public, as it was held exclusively as a collection”.
