Nearly 74,000 entries were recorded from April 12 to 16 at the Quebec City Convention Center, a “significant increase” compared to last year, when we received 70,000 readers.

In total, nearly 17,000 young people came to the Show as part of school outings. The organization believes that a new “more airy” configuration of the premises played in favor of the event.

The magic of books still worksrejoices the SILQ in a statement issued Sunday.

Many school children bought books during the event.

Success for the Author.e studio

The Author.e Studio – long interviews with well-known writers in front of an audience – attracted more than 2,800 spectators, a success, according to the organization.

Unsurprisingly, it was the discussion with the Canadian writer Margaret Atwood, author of The Scarlet Maid, which sold out. Nearly 800 curious people came to attend the session of the author known for her dystopian works.

Patrick Senecal, Janette Bertrand. Amélie Nothomb, Nancy Huston and Marc Lévy have also attracted many literature lovers.
