RéCrEA is an alternative system to full-time hospitalization which will be officially set up in Saint-Jean-de-Dieu Hospital Center on September 13, thanks to a real-time management allowing to respond to the request for care, to formalize it, to organize it and this, by moving the place of care to the living environment of the patient.

RéCrEA is a new structure, unique in its components, with an organization and intervention methods that are different from the existing one with a desire to experiment with a different, specific schedule, in 10 hours with IDEs at 35 hours. According to Agnès Marie-Egyptienne, director of the ARHM Foundation and the Center Hospitalier Saint-Jean-de-Dieu, “While the number of hospital beds in psychiatry has halved since the 1990s, the density of hospital beds in France is still among the highest in the OECD. The last three years have been greatly disrupted by the COVID-related pandemic, the consequences of which we still know. The professionals at the Center Hospitalier Saint-Jean-de-Dieu have risen to the daily challenge of ensuring continuity of care in a difficult context due to the lack of professionals. However, their involvement has also been exercised in a dynamic of projects, which will see the light of day in 2023, to meet two major challenges: to offer fluid life and care pathways, respectful of the person’s project and to support a dynamic of inclusion. Prevention, whether secondary or tertiary, is at the heart of the care to be offered: intervening as soon as possible from the onset of the disorders in order to prevent the progression of the disease. The Center Hospitalier Saint-Jean-de-Dieu has the ambition to rethink the course of care in its entirety, from the initial request to the end of treatment, to facilitate access to care, provide consistency and readability along the way. Several projects illustrate this ambition: the creation of a shared psychiatry-general medicine care system, the creation of a network for the early management of first psychotic episodes, the structuring of a line of outpatient care in perinatal psychiatry and the creation of a Crisis Resolution device in Ambulatoire.«
The Mental Health Disability Research Action (ARHM) and the Saint-Jean-de-Dieu Hospital Center will officially launch the RéCrEA system on September 13, 2023 during a round table open to all.
