Red Bull F1 leader denies Mick Schumacher joining AlphaTauri F1[F1-Gate.com]

Mick Schumacher is at risk of dropping out of F1 in 2023, reports Germany’s Bild.

Four-time F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel, who has announced his retirement from F1, has recommended Mick Schumacher for the 2023 Aston Martin F1 seat, but the team has signed Fernando Alonso.

“Sebastian’s good words to Lawrence Stroll didn’t help,” said RTL Felix Gorner.

“It means that next season there will only be Haas. It will be important to negotiate well in the coming weeks to secure a seat.”

In fact, Mick’s uncle Ralf Schumacher, who had been very critical of the Haas F1 team in the past, suddenly started talking about the team.

“For my nephew Mick, an Aston Martin would have been a good option,” Ralf Schumacher told Sky Deutschland.

“But he’s already at the Haas F1 team who are doing a good job and making progress. Mick’s performance has improved a lot in the last few weeks and it’s good enough for them to be together. I can imagine

“There aren’t that many experienced drivers on the market and I don’t know what else Haas can do, and new drivers need long start-up times in these cars and don’t have time to test them.”

Bild claims “first talks” have already taken place between Mick Schumacher and the Haas F1 team for 2023.

“But the relationship between the two is difficult,” Bild reported

“Günther Steiner has publicly criticized Mick in the past.”

According to Bild, another big problem for Mick Schumacher is that he could lose the favor of Mattia Binotto as the top driver in Ferrari’s F1 academy.

Even the Williams F1 team doesn’t seem to be an option for Mick Schumacher.

“Alexander Albon remains and engine supplier Mercedes wants driver Nick de Vries to replace Nicolas Latifi,” reports Bild.

“That means we are facing a year without a German driver in F1.”

Mick’s last chance to stay in F1 could be a seat at AlphaTauri F1.

Yuki Tsunoda is yet to be decided, but he is number one on our list,” Red Bull F1 motorsport adviser Helmut Marko told f1-insider.com.

“I have not spoken to Mick Schumacher. He is a junior at Ferrari.”
