Rehabilitation works begin on the Primavera-Santa Bárbara-La Pintada road

With the presence of the Governor of Antioquia, Aníbal Gaviria, a rehabilitation work began this Saturday that will allow traffic to be restored at the La Quiebra site on the Primavera-Santa Bárbara-La Pintada road

According to the Government, This intervention will solve the loss of banking recorded last May due to heavy rains that were presented and that led to the total closure of the road, with the aim of prioritizing the safety of users and the community.

As established by the La Pintada Concession, in charge of these works, It will try to establish 24-hour work days to speed up the delivery and be able to take a provisional step for next December.

“We have been very attentive to the mayor, the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI), the concessionaire and the government team of the Governorate, to advance the schedule as much as possible and that is why today we can give that part of tranquility, today it is starting the work, the commitment is to do night work to be able to advance and that we manage to take at least a provisional step in December and that is very important for the merchants and in general for the community”, indicated Gaviria.

Bank reconstruction works to reconnect the municipalities of Southwest Antioquia are expected to end in January 2023 and include slope stabilization activities, construction of micropiles, retaining walls, fill, pavement structure, hydraulic works and drainage, as well as signage.

The mayor of Santa Bárbara, Luis Fernando Tangarife, spoke about the reactivation of the economy thanks to these works and said that the concession will hire workers from the region to mitigate in part the difficulties suffered in recent months, in addition, He explained about the need not to completely close the road.

We know that practically 8 or 9 villages and our district of Damascus were closed to us and it is very important to always keep the road active.even if it is the pedestrian crossing of motorcycles and motor freighters, to boost our economy since many of our products leave these paths towards the municipal capital”, noted Tangarife.

For his part, Governor Aníbal Gaviria announced a bicycle ride for Sunday, July 31, which is part of the activations that the Government of Antioquia and the mayor of Santa Bárbara carry out to boost the economy of this municipality in the Southwest.

“In the future, we have no doubt that this is going to be a tourist corridor and that this cycling character that has always been one of the most important mountain positions in the tour of Colombia, the RCN Classic, and of many others, will once again be part of the DNA of this pathway”, highlighted Gaviria.

And for the month of December, when partial passage is made through the road, the Governor announced “a great activation, a great carnival with cycling events, with the community and a caravan for the inauguration so that many Antioquians and Colombians who for decades have passed through this route, have it again not only as an axis to connect, but as a tourist circuit”.
