In France, the return to normal life is accelerating with phase 2 of deconfinement which comes into force on Wednesday. In companies, this new step marks the end of 100% teleworking, but also the relaxation of the health protocol in canteens. Now, the gauge can accommodate 50% of employees, and up to six colleagues can meet per table. A relaxation that makes employees smile again, as Europe 1 observed in a company restaurant in one of the La Défense towers in Paris.

Having to eat your natural yogurt alone in front of your tray, it’s finally over for Clémence. The management controller will rediscover the conviviality of a lunch with colleagues. “That’s what we missed during all these months, to laugh all together”, she rejoices, while her colleagues praise “these moments of exchange”. “We see people, we are with our colleagues, we can discuss more freely,” said one of them.
No more than six per table
The opportunity to discuss the last meeting, but also summer vacation plans, all this, of course, while respecting the gauges. “Only in this restaurant, you have 400 seats, so we will be able to accommodate 200 people at the same time,” recalls Patrick Boisseau, who is part of the management of this company restaurant. “You can be six at the same table. We will arrange to space them out, so that you never have the possibility of being more than six at the table.”
This organization “is a bit of a commotion, but it is for a good cause … to welcome our guests again”, he concludes. Its teams have therefore added a hundred trays and as many chairs. And in accordance with sanitary protocol, a take-out meal system will always be possible for solo lunch break enthusiasts.
