“Ball Ball fell asleep this Friday. He fell asleep during his last thoracentesis operation (puncture of the chest wall to evacuate fluid from the pleura). Originally we wanted to arrange chemotherapy or other possible treatment for him after this operation, but it’s too late now don’t be sad, remember the joy that Balltze brought to the world,” said the owner of the dog on Instagram this Friday.
Donations for Balltze donated to associations
Coming from the mountains around Tokyo, the hunting dogs of the Shiba Inu breed have peculiarities like a round and smiling face. This characteristic had allowed Balltze to become a global meme in 2017, namely a viral image on social networks, known as “Cheems”.
“He helped many people during the pandemic and brought a lot of joy to many of you, but now his mission is over. I believe he runs freely in the sky and eats a lot of delicious food with his new friends. He will always be in my heart. I hope he can continue to bring joy to everyone online, that’s my only humble request,” added his master living in Hong Kong in the post on Friday.
The latter specified that all the funds collected from from the website selling goodies from the dog and the Balltze community, which notably has 768,000 followers on Instagram, would be donated to an association.
“The donation money I collected for medical bills will now be donated to local animal charities. Thank you all, thank you, Balltze knows how much he was loved by all of you, ”concluded the owner.
