Harare – Zimbabwe cricket legend Heath Streak (49) passed away. He died while undergoing treatment for cancer. He was the captain of the Zimbabwe national team. The streak was the backbone of the team during the golden era of Zimbabwean cricket. He retired from international cricket in 2005.

Streak was Zimbabwe’s most celebrated sports star in the 1990s and early 2000s. Played 65 Tests and 189 ODIs for Zimbabwe. 4933 runs and 455 wickets. The streak holds the record for most wickets for Zimbabwe in international cricket.

After retirement, he was also active as a coach. He has coached many teams at domestic and international levels. He was the coach of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL. Also coached Bangladesh and Zimbabwe teams.
