Jack Audier, a former mechanic, died Friday in Chartres, following cancer. “We gave him six months, he fought for a year and a half,” says his only son Clément.
The professional, born in Châteaudun and who would have been 73 this Sunday, built his notoriety, from 1983 to 2017, at the head of his garage on rue de Reverdy in Chartres, by repairing prestigious cars. “He was demanding at work, but human. Jack Audier was also a mechanic in world rally championship races. He also drove a Range Rover three times, at Paris-Dakar, finishing the event twice with another local figure, Yves Morize.
