Lebanese journalist Giselle Khoury has passed away at the age of 62

Lebanese journalist Giselle Khoury (1961-2023) passed away at dawn on Sunday, due to complications from cancer. Khoury’s health had deteriorated weeks ago and he passed away at dawn today.

Khoury began her media career during the Lebanese Civil War, accompanying the launch of the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation International channel, and was one of the stars of the station.

She presented a number of cultural talk shows, the most prominent of which was the Omar Dialogue program, which is considered one of the most famous Lebanese television programs, in which she received more than 220 Lebanese, Arab and international guests. When the program ended in 2001, she began presenting “The Eighth Day,” then moved a year later to the Saudi “Al Arabiya” channel and accompanied its launch.

Khoury presented a talk show on Al Arabiya called “Beirut Studio” until 2013, when she moved to the BBC Arabic channel to present the “Al Mashhad” program, and from the BBC she moved to “Sky News Arabia” in August. 2020, introduction to the program “With Giselle”.

Khoury married journalist Samir Kassir, who was assassinated in 2005 in Beirut. After his assassination, the Samir Kassir Foundation was established, from which emerged the “The Eyes of Samir Kassir/SKIES” Center, an observatory for press freedom.
