Rennes lets Bayern fidget

It is an open secret that Bayern are working flat out to sign Mathys Tel. The 17-year-old Frenchman is one of the most promising young talents in European football. According to recent reports, Bayern have submitted an improved offer but are still awaiting an answer from Stade Rennes.

As “Sky” reporter Florian Plettenberg reports, Mathys Tel, along with Konrad Laimer, is right at the top of Bayern’s wish list for this summer. Accordingly, the Munich are pushing for a quick decision in the transfer poker with Stade Rennes.

Board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic was personally in France on Monday to present the new Bayern offer for the youngster. According to rumours, FCB is willing to pay almost 25 million euros for Tel. According to Plettenberg, the record champions have not yet received an answer from Rennes.

Tel should play with the pros from the start

While Bayern have yet to reach an agreement with Rennes, the player and his family have already agreed on a summer move. The French U20 national player has given Bayern Munich a verbal commitment. One reason why Tel absolutely wants to go to Bayern is the fact that Julian Nagelsmann promised the offensive all-rounder a season with the pros right from the start. Due to the departure of Robert Lewandowski, Bayern have a need up front. Tel can be used flexibly and can play on the wing positions as well as in the center of the attack.
