The Mont-Blanc tunnel will be closed for the October holidays
The structure linking France and Italy will be completely closed to traffic for three weeks from October 17, 2022.

To go to Italy by road during the next October holidays, you will have to go through the Grand-Saint-Bernard tunnel (Switzerland) or the Fréjus tunnel (France). The Mont-Blanc tunnel will be completely closed to traffic for 21 days, from October 17 (5:00 p.m.) to November 7, 2022 (10:00 a.m.).
Reason for this closure: the renovation of part of the running slab and the complete repair of the 11.6 km of roadways.
A first part of this work, which began on August 29, will require 21 night closures – during the week – until October 6 (from 7.30 p.m. to 6 a.m.), as well as an extended closure of 30.30 p.m., between October 6 at 11.30 p.m. October 8 at 6 a.m.
