Early this morning, on a road in downtown Gwangju, an SUV crashed into a car making an illegal U-turn, killing two people in their 20s and a high school student in their teens.

Police are investigating speeding and drinking.

Reporter Lim Ji-eun reported.

A white car is stopped on the side of the road with 4 lanes one way.

After a while, the U-turn starts slowly, and an SUV that is running fast from behind in the second lane collides with it.

Immediately after the collision, the car turned and was pushed several tens of meters.

The impact of the accident completely wrinkled the car like a piece of paper and shattered the windows.

A 19-year-old high school student and two 21-year-old men and women who were in the car were taken to the hospital in cardiac arrest, but they died.

“In cardiac arrest, we performed chest compressions and basic resuscitation and transported him to the hospital. Even at the scene, his heart was not beating.”

The SUV driver and passenger suffered minor injuries and are being treated at the hospital.

The car was a rental car borrowed from a high school student who had a driver’s license.

At the time of the accident, the occupants were thrown out of the car or found in the passenger seat, so it is not known who was driving.

They were close seniors and juniors, and they had an accident while playing until dawn on their way to Yeonggwang, Jeollanam-do.

“While we were talking, he broke up with me around 3:50 (in the morning) and couldn’t contact me…”

It is known that the results of whether the car fatalities were drunk or not will come out in a week, but the SUV driver did not drink alcohol.

In addition, it seems that the speeding of the SUV that was running from behind will be revealed through precise forensics.
