“We have had several changes in our agenda for three weeks due to demonstrations inside and outside the Presidential Delegation, which has prevented us from carrying out the deployment that we had initially planned. The meeting with the militancy was replaced by an urgent meeting with the presidents of the political parties and some representatives, where we talked about the problem that the Pro Empleo workers are experiencing, something that keeps us very concerned,” said Anwar Farrán.
What’s more, the regional president of the PPD, Yesenia Figueroa, supported the President’s representative in the region.
“The Presidential delegate is absolutely dismayed with the situation that occurred, since he understands that this is the government of the workers. Meanwhile, from the Communist Party, its regional secretary, Elizabeth Ferrada, criticized in harsh terms the use of force against the Pro Empleo workers.
“We express as the Communist Party our categorical rejection of the attitude of the Special Forces. We believe that this situation could have been perfectly avoided. Dousing workers with ‘guanaco’ is an attack on human rights, it is an attack on human dignity, it is a lack of respect for workers, for women.
