Two female tourists who got lost after biwak camping using terrain features instead of tents on Jeju Sanbangsan Mountain were rescued by a fire helicopter.

According to the Jeju Fire and Safety Headquarters on the 8th, at around 9:45 am, a report was received through 119 that two people, including A (Seoul), a woman in her 60s, and B (Seoul), a woman in her 50s, got lost while descending Mt. Sanbangsan Mountain in Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju. done.

When the rescue team arrived at the scene, it was determined that helicopter rescue was necessary as the rescued person was near a cliff, so the fire helicopter Hallamae was deployed and the rescue was completed at approximately 1:47 p.m.

They climbed Sanbangsan Mountain the previous day and got lost while coming down from the mountain that day. Sanbangsan Mountain is Nationally Designated Cultural Heritage Scenic Site No. 77, and to prevent damage, it has been designated as a restricted public area until December 31, 2031. It can only be viewed in designated areas from the ticket office to Sanbanggulsa Temple on the mountainside, and entry to other areas is prohibited.
