A cub, just a few months old, was taken to a zoo in northern Serbia on Thursday following it was seen wandering on a road, officials and media said.
Sonia Mandic, from Palic Zoo, said that the little female, who was found on the outskirts of the city of Subotica, near the border with Hungary, was suffering from malnutrition and weakness.

Local media reported that a resident of Subotica spotted the little girl on the road and called the police, who then took her to the zoo.
Reports also stated that the cub was friendly and was not afraid. In a video clip, a policeman and local residents can be seen petting the cub.
Mandic said that the little girl is in “very bad condition” and is receiving treatment.
She added, “She is between 3 and 5 or 6 months old, but she suffers from malnutrition.”
The police have not yet issued a statement, but it is believed that smuggling of wild and rare animals is widespread in the Balkan region, according to the Associated Press.
