Residents in Bestwood, Nottingham plagued by ongoing construction nightmare

Peter Walker and his wife have lived in Bestwood, Nottingham for 18 years. So far, they have never had a problem, but for several years, work has been underway on land located just opposite their home. “And we’ve been living in hell ever since,” Peter told Nottingham Live.

This new district must accommodate 131 social housing units and inevitably, the works are important. “Access is permanently blocked. It’s a nightmare. All the residents are furious,” continues Peter. “Workers are not supposed to work before 8 am and following 5 am… We are a residential area. There is no consideration, no respect for the residents, and they don’t care”.

The situation is such that Peter plans to move. “I even gave up the idea of having a clean car”.

Peter also takes pleasure in recalling that last year, several homes were flooded because of the water that had accumulated on the site.

A feeling shared by Laura, one of her neighbours: “My blinds have turned black with so much dust. The other day, we had the impression of being in a sandstorm”.

Lovell, the property developer, apologized for the inconvenience and ensured to do what is necessary to ensure that the tranquility of local residents is respected.
