This can make things easier for people with disabilities and their loved ones. After all, until now, in order to get a lift, you had to submit a written application to the Riga Social Service. Now all necessary documents can be submitted electronically.

However, those residents of Riga who find it more convenient to do this in person can contact the territorial centers of the Riga Social Service.

The mandatory rules establish the procedure according to which the Riga Municipality provides the use of mobile or stationary wheelchair lifts and chair lifts, as well as the persons entitled to receive the use of the lift. For example, you can do this both for yourself and for your minor child.

When it comes time to install a lift for wheelchair users, it is placed in the stairwell of a residential building where a person using a wheelchair lives.

This service can be received by disabled people of the first and second groups, a disabled child with limited mobility, a person who uses a wheelchair and does not receive long-term social care and social rehabilitation services or is not in prison.
