WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. presidential election between President Biden and former President Trump remains likely to be a close race, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.
Trump’s approval rating is 37% and Biden’s 34%. Mr. Trump has a lead of 3 percentage points, down from 6 percentage points in last month’s poll.
In this survey, approximately 10% of respondents said they would vote for another candidate. 12% said they would not vote at all, and 8% refused to answer.
The survey was conducted online over four days, ending on the 12th, and received responses from 1,237 adults across the United States.
Prior to the investigation, on the 8th, the US special counsel decided not to prosecute President Biden criminally over the removal of classified documents. “Even if prosecuted, Mr. Biden is likely to give jurors the impression that he is a likable and well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory, just as we interviewed him,” the report said.See more
Meanwhile, one in four Republicans and about half of independents said they would not vote for Trump if he was found guilty of a felony.
