Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, held a meeting today to review the plans for the project to revive and develop the zoo and the Oroman Gardens in Giza, in the presence of Eng. Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Military Production Company, and Mohamed Kamel, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hadayek Company.
The Prime Minister started the meeting by referring to the need to implement the project to develop the Giza Zoo in a way that is comparable to its international counterparts, and enhances its archaeological and historical value as one of the oldest zoos in the world, within the framework of re-presenting it on the basis of international environmental standards, and to represent an outlet to accommodate visiting citizens from various parts of the Republic, stressing that this requires making every effort to reach the desired goal of developing the Zoo and Orman Zoo.
Ambassador Nader Saad, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, stated that the meeting dealt with a number of items related to the project to develop the Zoo and Orman Gardens in Giza, noting that it was noted that the necessary approvals for the implementation of the project had been obtained by the Islamic and Coptic Antiquities Committee, and the African Zoos Association. Animal and Aquatic (Bazza) on the final design of the project, and the approval of the National Organization for Urban Harmony was obtained.
The Spokesman said: During the meeting, reference was made to the study that was conducted to show the traffic impact of the closure of Nahdet Misr Street during the implementation of the construction of a tunnel to link the zoo and the Orman Zoo.
Ambassador Nader Saad added that the meeting dealt in detail with the design determinants of the development project, which takes into account increasing the number of animal species displayed from 71 to 186 species, and increasing the areas that attract visitors from 3 regions currently to 14 regions. Visitors to watch the animals, as well as the establishment of educational centers with the aim of educating children of different ages, and adding an entertainment part to it.

At the same time, pointing out that the monuments and heritage areas of the garden have been confined, to preserve and restore them, and they include the Royal Mountain, the Candlelight Mountain, the Creativity Mountain, and the Japanese Kiosk, as well as the suspension bridge, the old gate, and the remains of the Haramlek Palace, and the preservation of the historical external walls and gates will be taken into consideration. for the garden.
The official spokesman pointed out that the final design of the Giza Zoo development project was presented, which was agreed upon during the meeting to rename it “Animals Garden”. Africa, America, family, safari trips, bird tent, Egypt area, elephant area, in addition to the night experience area that was added to extend service hours in the park to provide entertainment service for longer hours for the Egyptian family.
At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister directed that these plans and designs be presented to the Supreme Council for Planning and Urban Development, for approval, provided that they are subsequently presented to the Council of Ministers. in preparation for the start of implementation.
