The work of the Médecins solidaires association for fight against medical deserts is rewarded with a prize. Its co-founder has just been elected “health personality of the year 2023” by the Doctor’s daily, a reference journal for the medical press. Martial Jardel, a young general practitioner in Haute-Vienne, contributed with Bouge ton Coq to opening two health centers in Creuse, in Ajain and Bellegarde-en-marche.
This spotlight sheds light on an innovative idea : set up practices in the countryside, in which caregivers from all over France take turns every week. The concept is so successful that in Ajain, the health center, overwhelmed with calls, can no longer accommodate new patients.

The Doctor’s Daily writes: “He is not the most famous personality on our end-of-year panel, and yet Dr Martial Jardel deserves to be known. This young general practitioner, graduated in 2021, did not wait for politicians to tackle to the problem of medical shortages.” Solidarity Doctors has already been joined by 350 doctors. The association is now deployed outside of Creuse and installs a similar health center in Cher in early 2024.
