It has been decided to start the railway project in December 2030, which will open the way for revolutionary changes in the transport sector in the GCC countries.

The railway project will connect all the Gulf countries. The date for the implementation of the project was approved at the 25th meeting of the GCC Transport Ministers held in Muscat.

UAE and Saudi have gone ahead with the work of the project. UAE’s Etihad Rail completed 900 km and commenced freight service in February.

Saudi Rail completed 200 km of Ras Al Khair-Daman route. Oman Rail and Etihad Rail have established a joint venture to acquire land to connect Suhar Port with the UAE National Rail.

Infrastructure development and design of Qatar Rail has been completed. The first phase of the parallel bridge project connecting Bahrain to the GCC railway network and the design of Kuwait’s 111 km railway track have been completed.

Once the project to connect each country is completed, the GCC Rail will provide a lot of convenience to the people and lead to a jump in development.
