“RIBEF Scientists Discuss Ethnicity’s Impact on Medicines at Mandela Program: MESTIFAR and AEXCID”

A dozen scientists from the Ibero-American Pharmacogenetics and Pharmacogenomics Network (RIBEF) from Mexico, Brazil and Ecuador and coordinated by Dr. Adrián Llerena, have met to show students of the Mandela Program the importance of ethnicity in the plans safety of medicines, their use and the development of personalized medicine strategies.

The scientific community of the RIBEF has acted within the framework of the program known as MESTIFAR and which is financed by the Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AEXCID) of the Junta de Extremadura.

On this day, the director of AEXCID, José Ángel Calle, thanked the students of the Mandela Program for their commitment to values ​​such as solidarity, equality, democracy and fraternity.

Calle concluded that “we wanted to recognize your commitment to the democratic construction of Extremadura in these 40 years of autonomy and you have become the best ambassadors that Extremadura cooperation could have imagined having”.
