DANIEL Ricciardo has distanced himself from speculation of a potential move to the Red Bull Team in 2025, saying he is currently focused only on Formula 1 racing.

The Australian racer was said to be replacing Sergio Perez, but suffered a poor start to the season with the team, RB, previously known as AlphaTauri, finishing 13th in Bahrain and 16th in Saudi Arabia.

“I don’t believe all the stories circulating, if you will. I think it’s always our goal to do the best we can. And I think whatever happens will happen or can happen,” AFP quoted Ricciardo as saying.

“But for us, my goal is to drive this car as best as possible. I think now, after getting back in the car, I won’t look too far ahead. So, am I thinking about the Red Bull seat you were talking about? No,” he added.

Ricciardo, 34, replaced Nyck de Vries at AlphaTauri midway through last season. The eight-time grand prix winner parted ways with McLaren at the end of 2022, but remains part of the F1 scene as Red Bull’s reserve driver. (Ndf/Z-7)
