SINGER and songwriter Vaultboy collaborates with Salem Ilese on his new single, entitled Closer. This is Vaultboy’s second collaboration with the singer from the United States (US) who went viral with the song Mad At Disney.
They previously collaborated on the song “Don’t Shop When You’re Hungry” on Ilese’s album High Concept, which was released last year.
Called The King of Sad Songs by Rolling Stone, Vaultboy is known for his music that doesn’t hesitate to show his mood.
Single Closer tells the story of romance between two people that is slowly growing, even though both of them have not yet determined their status – is this a platonic friendship or a romantic relationship?

“This song tells the story of when you both know that you like each other and know the direction you are going but neither dares say anything. Salem and I wrote this song from our own personal experiences and we hope you can feel connected to our story ,” said Vaultboy
“This song is about the initial phase of a relationship and how it feels very exciting and also torturous. The song was made when Vaultboy and I were in a writing session and the song was only made in a few hours and it feels like we were hanging out together,” added Ilese.
On Closer, Vaultboy and Ilese collaborate with songwriting and producer duo Colin & Alex who are Vaultboy’s frequent collaboration partners.

Vaultboy’s newest song is taken from his first album, Everything and Nothing, which is ready to be released on May 10 2024.
Previously, Vaultboy had released a series of singles which successfully achieved millions of streams, including Everything, Everywhere featuring eaJ, Everything Hits Me At Once, and Where tf Have You Been?.
