OAKLAND — Yordan Alvarez hit two of Houston’s seven home runs and the rising Astros routed the A’s 10-1 on Sunday to complete another series sweep. Oakland has 11 consecutive losses.

Alvarez homered off starter Ken Waldichuk in the first and then hit another solo shot off Garrett Acton in the ninth, shortly after Jeremy Pena homered. It was the second multi-homer game this week for Alvarez and the 15th of his career.

Jose Altuve had three hits, including his first home run of the season after missing Houston’s first 43 games with a broken right thumb. Jake Myers hit another three-run homer in the fourth. Chas McCormick and Jose Abreu added two more solo shots as the Astros earned their 14th win in 17 games.

Cristian Javier (6-1) allowed one run and four hits in five innings. The right-hander had three strikeouts and three walks.

For the Astros, Venezuelan José Altuve went 5-3 with two runs scored and one RBI. Dominicans Jeremy Peña 4-1 with a run scored and two RBIs, Yainer Díaz 4-1 with an RBI. Cubans Yordan Álvarez 5-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs, José Abreu 4-1 with a run scored and one pushed.

For the Athletics, the Dominican Ramón Laureano 2-1. Cuban Aledmys Díaz 2-1.
