France is a country where there are many gourmets who are serious about food, and a month of summer vacation is the standard. It’s been different lately. More and more French are giving up taking vacations, let alone eating less.

This is an event venue for a volunteer group that distributes free food to university students.

It is a food bank method that collects and distributes food with a short expiration date at supermarkets, etc., but it is difficult to meet the rapidly increasing demand.

France’s June food consumption decreased by 10% compared to a year and a half ago.
French people are famous for taking a long summer vacation abroad for nearly a month, but 40% of the people gave up vacation this year as the cost of lodging, eating out, and airfare soared all at once.

Europe’s inflation rate peaked at 10.6% in October of last year and has declined little by little, but it is still at a high level of 5%.
In the aftermath of the war in Ukraine, especially food and energy prices are skyrocketing, French and other Europeans are expected to tighten their belts for the time being.
