Risk of Salmonellosis: reminder of curly parsley

2023-05-04 16:17:47

Trudeau Farms brand curly parsley is being recalled by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) due to contamination with Salmonella bacteria.

The recalled product is the 160 g curly parsley sold by Fermes Trudeau between April 24 and May 3 inclusively throughout Quebec.

The Agency reminds that recalled products must not be consumed, used, sold, served or distributed.

“Foods contaminated with Salmonella bacteria do not necessarily have visible spoilage or a suspicious odor, but can still make you sick,” the CFIA reiterated.

Young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and immunocompromised people are at higher risk of contracting a serious infection.

For healthy people, salmonellosis can cause fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
