Road accident: the government reorganizes road traffic in Conakry

In a joint press release published this Monday, March 11, 2024, the Guinean government announces measures relating to road traffic.

The Ministries of Security and Civil Protection, Transport, Territorial Administration and the Guinean Road Safety Agency inform of the strengthening of the system of traffic regulation agents and the ban on parking of vehicles 50 meters before and after crossroads, among others.

The decision aims to force users to respect the highway code and thus reduce traffic accidents in the capital for the period of Muslim Ramadan and Christian Lent.

Here are the measures taken to ease traffic flow during this period of Ramadan and Christian Lent:

1- Ban on Taxi lines in roundabouts and intersections;

2- Removal of trash cans and other bulky physical items from the roadways;

3- Strengthening the systems of traffic regulation agents at the market level located on the main traffic axes;

4- Parking of vehicles 50 meters before and after the intersections;

5- Strict compliance with the Highway Code.
