After the armed robbery of a 31-year-old in his apartment in Linz, the three suspects were remanded in custody due to the risk of committing the crime. The time limit initially runs until October 9th, said court spokesman Walter Eichinger on Saturday evening. Armed robbery is being investigated. One of the perpetrators is a well-known 14-year-old who has just come of age.
Victim suffered a fractured eye socket
Just two days after his birthday, the boy got into trouble with the law. Together with a 19-year-old accomplice from Linz, he is said to have attacked a 31-year-old Iraqi man in his apartment in Linz around 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday morning. The two gained access to the apartment using a key that they had previously illegally appropriated.
There they are said to have threatened the Iraqi with a switchblade and demanded money from him before hitting him with hard objects. The 31-year-old suffered a fractured eye socket and other injuries all over his body.
Instigator also arrested
After the ordeal, the 31-year-old was finally able to escape from the apartment. An eyewitness who saw the seriously injured man on the street called the police. Immediately afterwards, a search for the perpetrators was launched. The 14-year-old and a 20-year-old, who is said to have acted as a contributor or instigator, were arrested on Thursday by the Cobra task force. The handcuffs also clicked for her 19-year-old accomplice. The trio has now been placed in pre-trial detention.
