The longest engagement in history ended on August 24: the Rolex group, created by Hans Wilsdorf in 1905, announced on Thursday that it had acquired Bucherer, a famous retailer in the industry, which had distributed Rolex and Tudor watches since 1924.
This marriage of two independent Swiss houses, central in international watchmaking history, allows the brand with the crown to secure its commercial strike force. It provides a way out from above for the third generation of descendants of Carl-Friedrich Bucherer, who founded the Lucerne group in 1888 with his wife Luise.
