“Rostec” develops a new system for directing vehicles in conditions of poor visibility

Russia – The Russian “Rostec” corporation announced the development of a new thermal imaging system, which helps guide mechanisms and vehicles in the dark and in conditions of poor visibility.

A statement issued by the organization said: “Experts at Shvabe, a subsidiary of our organization, were able to develop a new thermal imaging system to guide vehicles in complete darkness and in conditions of zero visibility. The new Vzglyad system allows the identification of equipment and mechanisms at a distance of up to 500 metres, and it can detect people at a distance of 300 metres.”

Regarding the topic, Bekhan Ozdoev, Industrial Director of the Corporation’s Weapons and Ammunition Production Department, said: “Unlike other similar systems, the Vzglyad system guarantees high image quality, which greatly accelerates the decision-making process in emergency situations, and in the future we plan to launch mass production of this system to be We are able to manufacture 100,000 units annually.”

According to available information, the new system consists of a thermal imaging device with a resolution of 640/512 pixels, which is installed on the roof of the vehicle. This device is linked to a screen installed in the vehicle’s cabin, which transmits the image directly to the vehicle’s cockpit. Thanks to this system, the Russian military forces will be able to direct Vehicles and mechanisms at night, able to monitor the enemy in the dark without being noticed.
