The Automobile Club of Germany (AvD) also supports the second Röhrl Classic as a sponsor and media partner as well as with technical service. After the premiere in 2022 on the southern edge of the Mecklenburg Lake District, the Tauber region with medieval Rothenburg ob der Tauber will form the scenic framework this year. The approximately 750-kilometer route leads from May 11th to 13th in the Tauber and Altmühl valleys as well as the Upper Palatinate, Franconian Switzerland and the Spessart.

The Röhrl Classic takes into account the special connection between the namesake and Porsche. That’s why only vehicles from the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer up to and including the year of construction 1998 are eligible to start this year. In addition to production versions of the 356, 911, 912, 914, 916, 924 and 993 series, there will also be automotive rarities such as the 959 and classic sports versions in the starting field, provided they are approved for use on public roads.

The starting point is the historic market square in Rothenburg. And of course rally legend Walter Röhrl will also be there. The participants can drive up to the technical inspection by the organizational team headed by the former German rally champion Peter Göbel from midday on Wednesday. If you want, you can take part in a rally course in the afternoon to familiarize yourself with the road book, stopwatches and how to read the “Chinese characters” or to refresh your knowledge. (awm)
